Dollar General Surpasses Milestone of 5,000 Stores

Company Reaffirms and Provides Financial Guidance for Fiscal 2023 Full Year

GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn., May 2, 2024 - Dollar General Corporation (NYSE: DG) today announced that it plans to open approximately 1,110 new stores in Fiscal 2024, bringing its total store count to over 5,000 by the end of the year.

This significant milestone represents a major accomplishment for Dollar General, which has been rapidly expanding its store network in recent years. The company's aggressive growth strategy has been driven by the increasing demand for its low-cost products and convenient locations, particularly in underserved rural and urban communities.

"We are thrilled to surpass the 5,000-store milestone, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team members and the strong support of our customers," said Todd Vasos, Dollar General's CEO. "This achievement underscores our commitment to providing affordable and accessible products to the communities we serve."

In addition to its plans for new store openings, Dollar General also announced that it will continue to invest in its existing stores and its omnichannel capabilities. The company plans to remodel over 1,000 stores in Fiscal 2024 and enhance its e-commerce platform and mobile app to provide customers with a seamless shopping experience.

"We believe that our continued growth and investment will allow us to further strengthen our position as the leading value retailer in the United States," Vasos added. "We remain confident in our ability to deliver long-term value for our shareholders and make a positive impact in the communities we serve."

Dollar General also reaffirmed its financial guidance for Fiscal 2023. The company expects net sales to grow in the range of 7% to 9%, comparable store sales to increase by 3% to 5%, and diluted earnings per share to be in the range of $11.85 to $12.15.
