Mavs Fall to Celtics in Game 3, Boston's Depth Proves Too Much

Luka-Kyrie Duo Struggles, Celtics Ground Mavs Bigs

Celtics Take 2-1 Series Lead

In a thrilling Game 3 of the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics displayed their superior depth and defensive prowess, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 122-113. Despite the heroics of the Mavs' star duo, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, the Celtics' balanced attack and suffocating defense proved too much to overcome.

Doncic led the Mavs with 26 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Irving added 22 points and 5 assists. However, the Celtics' Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Marcus Smart all scored over 20 points, while Robert Williams III dominated the paint with 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.

The Celtics' defense held the Mavericks' big men, Christian Wood and Dwight Powell, to a combined 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting. The Mavs struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 18.2% (4-of-22), while the Celtics connected on 36.4% (12-of-33) of their three-point attempts.

With the win, the Celtics take a 2-1 lead in the series, which shifts to Dallas for Game 4 on Friday night.
