Dramatic night ends with France sealing top spot in Group F
2-2 draw also sees Portugal reach the last 16 as one of four best
Portugal will face France in the second quarterfinal at the UEFA European Championships Euro 2024 after both teams progressed from Group F on Wednesday night.
France finished top of the group with a 2-2 draw against Portugal in Budapest, while Germany's 2-0 win over Hungary in Munich saw them finish second in the group.
Portugal finished third in the group but progressed to the last 16 as one of the four best third-placed teams.
A big part of this game will be how France defend Portugal's right-side rotations. Portugal have been very effective in attack down that side, with Diogo Dalot and Bernardo Silva combining well.
France will need to be wary of this threat and will likely need to double up on Dalot and Silva to stop them from causing problems.
